Edwin Leroy “Red” Walker, 90, of Litchfield, passed away Thurs., June 14, 2018 at 10:21 a.m. in his home. He was born on May 31, 1928 in Litchfield, the son of Raymond & Alma (Regenhold) Walker.

Mr. Walker was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served stateside during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Litchfield High School Class of 1946. He worked out of Local 84 as a Business Agent in Litchfield for 38 years and served 10 years as President of the 12 counties of Southwestern Illinois District Council. Red was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield & American Legion Post #436. He served his community as an Alderman in Ward 1, as a Trustee of South Litchfield Twp. and as a volunteer for the Litchfield Fire Department for 28 years.

He married Norma Elaine Curto on Oct. 30, 1948 in Litchfield. She survives. He is also survived by:
1 daughter, Jenny (Robert A.) Cook of Litchfield
1 granddaughter, Aimee McCormick
1 great-granddaughter, Abbegayle Stevenson

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Alfred O. Marburger.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Thurs., June 21, 2018 at 6 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. A reception and time of fellowship will follow the services at the Litchfield Fireman’s Club House at Lake Lou Yaeger.

The family suggests memorials to Lfd. Volunteer Fire Department or Alzheimer’s Association.
