Jane E. Barnes, 82, of Sykesville, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, surrounded by family at her home in Artemas, PA.
Born August 6, 1939, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Hobart Smith and Vera Henry. She was the wife of the late Merle G. Barnes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Beverly J. True; son, Merle A. "Butch" Barnes; and grandson, Matthew True.
Jane was a member of the Eastern Star Freedom Chapter.
Surviving are her sons, Victor G. Barnes of Artemas, PA, and Patrick L. Barnes of Keymar, MD; son-in-law, Kelly True of Sykesville, MD; daughter-in-law, Linda Barnes of Sykesville, MD; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Ann Smith of Fort Myers, FL; sister-in-law, Mildred Smith of Artemas, PA; grandchildren, Jason, Brian, Steven, and Emilee Barnes, Kelly Barry, Brandi Caudill, Ted Sanders, Taylor Gray, Lauren Burleson, Chris Good; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Fairview Christian Church, 1757 Crooked Run Rd, Artemas, PA, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 12 p.m. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be following the service.
