Laurence Emory Keppers

Laurence Emory Keppers, age 95, resident of Brainerd/Baxter died on Wednesday, June 13th at the St. Cloud Veterans Hospital. Laurence graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Knoll. Laurence and Dorothy were longtime co-owners of "Kep's Superette" in SW Brainerd, along with several other business ventures over the years. Larry retired in 1996.

Larry (also known as "Keps"), enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan. In his younger years, he was a drummer in several bands in the Brainerd area.

Larry is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Janice (Ted) Pederson; sister, Pat Falenschek; 4-grandchildren; and 7-great grandchildren with another on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lisle and Laurence Keppers; daughter, Jeanine (Keppers) Hoffman and sister, Kathleen Keppers.

Services celebrating the life of Laurence will be held on Wednesday, June 20th at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10am until the 11am funeral service. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
