LaFEVER, JAMES WILLIAM, SR., 77, of Louisville, died Saturday at Norton Audubon Hospital.

He was a native of Cookeville, TN, a retired employee of Pillsbury Company, with 45 years of service, a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Holy Name Catholic Church. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball and Green Bay Packer fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bonnie (Glover) LaFever and his brothers and sisters, Jerry and Walter R. LaFever, Janie Marie Stice and Inez LaFever.

He is survived by his wife, the former Frances B. Smith; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Tinsley (Bobby); sons, James William Jr. (Karen) and Ernest LeRoy (Melinda) LaFever; sisters, Darnell Johnson and Bobbie Sue Morris; four grandchildren, Rob and James Tinsley, Ann Mathews and Cheryl Blair;one great-grandchild, Garrett Mathews; a sister-in-law, Marie LaFever; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3509 Taylor Blvd., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mass of the Air or Rosary of the Air.
