She was born October 7, 1924 in Alleghany County to the late Charles Clarence Higgins and Daisy Virginia Myers (Higgins) Bryant.
She was also preceded by her husband, James Waldo Gibson, Sr., son, James Waldo Gibson Jr. and two sisters Eva Traynor and Madeline Pearl Higgins (Bryant) Lemon.
She was a former employee of Halmode, Inc. as a presser.
Surviving are her son Charles “Pete” (Sue) Gibson Sr., daughter Kathy (Mike) McCauley, a daughter-in-law Helen Gibson, ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a number of great-great-grandchildren and sister, Maxine Clark.
A graveside service will be held at 4: 00 pm, Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.
