Jerry Lee Webster was born August 23, 1934 in Watts, Oklahoma to Myrtle (Welch) and Silas Webster. He was the second to the youngest of seven boys who included Bob, Jack, Sam, Dugan, Red and Calvin, who are waiting for him at Heaven’s Gate.
He attended elementary and secondary school in Watts, Oklahoma. His parents decided to move to Tahlequah, OK during his high school days where he attended Bagley High School. During his senior year of high school; money was tight and he decided to move to California. The move to California lead him to his best friend, confidant, and love of his life Eunice Black, they married in October 1953. Jerry would always joke how he had to pull Eunice out of the snow bank as she was from Wisconsin.
Jerry loved life. He was an avid musician, hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Every time Jerry got a chance, he’d pull out his fiddle or guitar to play alone or with family and friends. His love for the fiddle and good music never died even after he was unable to play. He owned a boat of some sort most of his life and would fish any chance he got. When hunting season came, look out, he’d be up at the break of dawn ready to hunt anything from ducks to deer.
In 1958 he moved his family to Burney, California where he worked in the lumber mill. After his father passed away, he picked up roots and moved back to Tahlequah where he started Webster Well Drilling with his nephew. They built a very reputable business for many years together until Jerry decided to retire and return to Burney, California. After living in Burney for some time, he and Eunice decided to packed up and move back home to Tahlequah where he was surrounded by family and friends every day.
Jerry dedicated his life to the Lord and was baptized on October 7, 2007 at Eldon Baptist Church by Brother Jess French.
On June 11, 2018 Jerry passed from this life at age 83. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years Eunice, daughter Sheila Tillery of Park Hill, Oklahoma, one granddaughter Kimberley and Rodney Vaughn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; one grandson Roy “Mitchell” and Sara Cook of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Six (6) great grandchildren Charles “Clint” Cook, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Raven Cook of Owasso, Oklahoma; Gabrielle “Gabbie” Cook, Nathanial “Nathan” Cook and Daisy Cook all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Three (3) great-great grandchildren; Alexis “Lexi”, Aria, and Saige, and a new arrival due in October. Jerry also leaves behind many other family members and friends.
