Gertrude was born July 20, 1911, at Bancroft, Nebraska the daughter of Frank and Albertina (Brummund) Koehler. She was married to Otto Kammerlander on December 23, 1934 in Bancroft, Nebraska. The couple came to Amboy in 1936 where Otto farmed and Gertrude was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy where she was active in the LWML and the Ladies Guild. Gertrude was a talented quilter and enjoyed embroidery. She had many wonderful vegetable and flower gardens and made delicious apple butter. She enjoyed playing cards and watching the MN Twins but really enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Gertrude is survived by her son, Marvin (Bev) Kammerlander of Amboy, her son, Howard (June) Kammerlander of Winthrop, her daughter, Bernice Claussen of Apple Valley, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Otto, daughter-Dianne Kammerlander, son-in-law, Wayne Claussen, four brothers and seven sisters.
