James Russell Grogan, 92, of Bushnell, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Hospice of Citrus & Nature Coast in Lecanto. He was born June 20, 1925 in Colquitt County, Ga. to George Grogan and Missouri (Cain) Grogan. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rachel Grogan and his twin sister, Martha Faye Grogan Trupia He is survived by son-Donnie Ray Grogan (Marcia Morrison Grogan), of Las Vegas, Nev,; daughter-Gina Grogan Chesson (Phil) of Palm Harbor; five grandchildren - Hilarie Sandoval of San Francisco, Calif., Austin Grogan (Nicole) of Denver, Colo. , Heather Stevenson (Hunter) of Macon, Ga,, Holly Garretson (Cal) of Macon, Ga. and Phillip Chesson II (Amanda) of Palm Harbor; seven great-grandchildren - Nova Sandoval of San Francisco, Calif., Mary Rachel Stevenson, Martha Marie Stevenson, Joseph Stone Stevenson, James Hunter Stevenson, Caroline Catherine Garretson and Calloway Camp Garretson, all of Macon, Ga.; son-in-law - Joseph Patrick Trupia (Linda) of Macon, Ga.; sisters - Jane Gibbs of Moultrie, Ga. and Wanda Grogan of Athens, Ga.

A service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. (with visitation from 10:30 to 11:30) at Purcell Chapel, with Pastor Hunter Stevenson officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, with military honors provided by Sumter County Honor Guard. Arrangements are being handled by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory - Purcell Chapel, 114 W. Noble Ave., Bushnell, Florida.
