Laura Mae Harding, 83, of Ellettsville passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
She was born on June 29, 1934 in Monroe County, Indiana the daughter of Robert W. and Myrtle F. (Chambers) Deckard. Laura was a graduate of University High School. Laura married Paul L. Harding in 1950. She worked as a cook at different schools in Monroe County Schools and Indiana University.
Laura was a member of United Pentecostal Assembly and Family Life Worship Center in Bloomington.
She is survived by her children; Brenda (Duane) Lynn of Solsberry, Paul L. (Deanna Davenport) Harding of Daytona, Fl, Edward W. (Debbie) Harding of Ellettsville, John E. (Krystal) Harding of Bloomington, and Raymond W. (Rebecca) Harding of Bedford, 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren whom she was proud of and loved dearly, her brother; Richard Deckard of Indianapolis, her sisters; Maxine D. Nichols of Danville, and Martha Bruner of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Paul L. Harding in 2004, a daughter Linda Lou, and three sisters; Maggie M. Clark, Mary M McCaffey and Mildred McGrew, and a brother Mitchell M. “Bud” Deckard.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Allen Funeral Home & Crematory 4155 S. Old St Rd 37, Bloomington. With Rev Tracy Noel officiating. Burial will be follow at Mt. Ebal Cemetery.
