Pauline Douglas Gibson, age 90, of Elkton, MD, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Born in Coeburn, VA, on March 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Nannie Edwards Tunnell.
Mrs. Gibson retired from Cecil County Public Schools as a teacher's aide. She enjoyed woodworking in her younger years and reading.
Survivors include her sons, Dennis Gibson and wife, Mavis, and Cossie Gibson and wife, Judy, both of Elkton, MD; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Emanuel C. Gibson; son, Marty Gibson; and siblings, Allard Edwards, Inez Hopkins, Thelma Gibson, Hubert Tunnell, Herby Tunnell and Yolanda Reid.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
