Jimmie Andrew Martin, Sr., 84, of Seymour, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2018 in Vernon, Texas.

Services will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018, Father's Day, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, at 2 P.M. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Hood, Texas.

Jimmie was born February 21, 1934 in Knox County, Texas to Ray and Willie Lane Martin. He attended school in Goree, and afterward went off to the Army. As a member of the VFW, he served at many Memorial Day Services and veteran's funeral services. He married Frances Pauline Copeland on November 2, 1955. He was a devout member of the Downtown Mens Bible Class in Seymour.

He is survived by his children, Jimmy Martin, Jr. of Marshall, Arkansas; Christine Dunn and Joe Bob Emsoff of Seymour, Texas, and Stella Robertson of Vernon, Texas; a sister, Virginia Johnson and husband, Tom of Seymour, Texas; four grandchildren, Clint and Sarah Walker of Clarksville, Tennessee, Angie Walker of Vernon, Texas, Dusty Dunn and Jaymie Dunn of Seymour, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Walker, Cole Walker, Hagen Dunn and Samuel Dunn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Raymond, Buddy and Jackie Martin; his sisters, Mary Ann Fathauer and Betty Fathauer; and by a son, Jerry Martin.

Visitation will be held at 7 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's research, or to a veteran's organization.
