Annette was the daughter of Grant Jacob and Barbara Laverne Pickett Austad. She attended Ben Lomond High School and Weber State University.

Annette married Lysle English in 1977. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. Lysle's career took them from Arizona and Virginia to Nebraska and Arkansas, finally settling in Southern Utah.

When their children entered school, Annette began her 18 year career with the Hurricane City Police Department as a secretary. She made many friends during this time.

Annette loved to travel with her husband, enjoyed reading, and relished in trying new Food Network recipes. She loved classic tunes, and shared them with her children. One of her biggest loves in life was her grandchildren. She was always there to cheer them on.

At the time of her passing, Annette was survived by her husband, Lysle, and her five children and their partners, as well as 18 grandchildren, her siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Micheal Stowell.
