Staff Sgt. Tudor of Watertown, NY was a 1989 graduate of Dunmore High School. It was after high school in Lackawanna County when the soldier decided to pursue a career fulltime in the Army. The career soldier served several tours of duty overseas while in the Army, most recently in Iraq where he worked as a squad leader. He served in Saudi Arabia in 1991, driving fuel trucks to service tanks and other military vehicles on the front lines of Operation Desert Storm. His tour was scheduled to end in August, but he recently learned it would be extended through November. His training includes the Transportation of Dangerous Cargo Course, Defense Hazardous Materials Transportation Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Air Deployment Planning Course, Unit Movement Planner Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Equal Opportunity Advisor Course, Warrior Leader Course, Mortuary Affairs Officer Course and the Combat Life Saver Course. His awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal – Government of Kuwait, Kuwait Liberation Medal – Government of Saudi Arabia, Combat Action Badge, Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge and the Driver Badge.
