Obituary for Renita Shantel Williams

The abiding love of a mother and son.

Renita Williams and Jaishaun Wells, who lived in Henrico County, VA, transitioned from time to eternity early Saturday, November 18, 2017. Though unexpectedly, their lives had an amazing impact on all who encountered their beautiful spirits.

Renita received her formal education in the Richmond City Public Schools system.

She worked tirelessly to provide the best home for her family as a wife and mother to her children (John, Jaishaun, and Derrell, Jr.).

In addition, she was a creative Renaissance woman who worked at Anthem, an entrepreneur in the haircare industry, and even dabbled in fashion design and party planning with creating shirts and tutus.

She was a faithful member of several community organizations.. Everyone who encountered her had the same testimony, "She's such a beautiful person."

The cloud of witnesses to receive them include: Jaishaun's father, Tyrone Pryor and their paternal grandmother/great grandmother, Thelma Wyatt.

Their legacies remain in the hearts of: two sons/brothers, John "Lil Jay" Pettaway and Derrell Williams, Jr.; Jaishaun's two sisters, Ty'Shawnda Pryor and Katyja McEachin; Jaishaun's brother, Chantel Johnson; mother/grandmother, Rachelle Wells (Lemuel Kidd); father/grandfather, Eddie Wyatt; four sisters/aunts, Laquita Wells, Chmeta Wells, Ciara Harris, and Khadijah Salley; three brothers/uncles, Calvet Smith, Keshard Howard, and Keith Howard, a host of nieces, nephews/cousins (three devoted cousins, Keionte Pickett (Renita), JaJonnae Williams and Travis Thomas (Jaishawn); maternal grandmother/great grandmother, Rosa Wells; maternal grandfather/great grandfather, James Goode; Jaishaun's paternal grandmother, Shelia Pryor; several sisters from another mother, Stefonia Atkins, Deborah Baker, the Baker sisters, and a host of other family members and caring friends.

They are deeply loved, truly missed, and will always be cherished. Mother and son, an incredible bond and abiding love not even death could separate.

Remains rested at March Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222. Viewing was held on Friday, November 24, 2017, from 1pm to 8pm, with a Wake from 5pm to 7pm. Services were held on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 11am, at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Road, Richmond, VA 23223. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
