Bill attended St. Rose Parish in Great Bend, KS and later received his high school diploma from Great Bend High School in 1972. He also received a scholarship from the Great Bend Eagles Club. After high school he attended Barton Community College where he received his associate degree then went on to the University of Kansas in Lawrence to be a Jayhawk. During his 2 ½ years there, Bill discovered his love for Kansas Basketball. This love spread and lives on throughout his entire family today. After college, Bill moved to Denver, CO and worked construction until he was offered a job in surveying.

This is the job that took him to Lamar, CO where he met the love of his life and best friend, Patty Jo. The two were married on July 3rd, 1978. They had Allen in 1979, Jared in 1981 and Jennifer in 1983. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in July 2018.

Over the years Bill’s construction career took his family through the states of Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and finally to their dream home in Montana. In 1996 Bill and Patty moved their family to Missoula, MT and have been there ever since. Camping and fishing at Brown’s lake was one of Bill’s favorite things to do. He and Patty also found their love for Jamaica and the Caribbean ocean and took several trips to Negril, Ocho Rios, Cozumel, and Cancun. Family and friends meant everything to Bill.
