Mr. Jessie Lawson, 69, of Beckley died Friday, June 8, 2018. He was a member of New Life Ministries, a graduate of Stratton High School, a coalminer, US Air Force Veteran and had 21 years of service in the Army Reserves.
Born February 14, 1949 in Beckley, WV, he was the son of Anna Gwinn of Harper Heights and the late Phillip Lawson (Deceased). In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Demitra Lawson (Deceased).
In addition to his mother, left to cherish precious memories are his grandchildren, Pharoah Lawson, Nyla Lawson, and Jahda Lawson, all of Frederick, MD; brothers, James Thompson of Upper Marlboro, MD, Robert Lawson of Harper Heights and Bradford Gwinn of Hampton, GA; sisters, Phyllis Pannell of Cleveland, OH, Janice Woody of Beckley and Alfreda Lawson of Harper Heights; aunt, Joy Thompson; ex-wife, Yvonne Lawson-Irby; special friend, Ronnie Marshall and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, June 15, 2018 at Church of God MPGT, 132 Old Turnpike Road, Beckley, with Bishop Emmet Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
