Louise "Spot" O'Dell, 79, formerly of Emory Avenue, Princeton, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at the Rockin Chair Residential Care Facility in Lerona, her new home since February 2007. Born in Lamar on Jan. 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Eva Mabe Hudgins. Louise was a member of the Rogers Street Community Church in Princeton. She loved to cook, work in her little garden and care for everyone around her. Her door was always open and everyone was always well fed. Her first words after hello were, "Are you hungry?" She will always be remembered for her love, kindness and generosity. If you had the chance to know her you were truly blessed. Louise and her husband owned several businesses. Prior to her retirement she was last employed as a cook for the Valley Country Restaurant in Green Valley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Raymond O'Dell; two sisters, Betty Fink and Gertrude Breeden; one brother, Jimmy Hudgins; sister-in-law, Millie Hudgins; brother-in-law, Brady Breeden; and son-in-law, William Neal. Left to cherish her memories are one son, R. Keith O'Dell and wife Mitzi of Mt. Ulla, N.C.; three daughters, Jean Neal, Brenda Bailey and husband Frankie, Kathy O'Dell and Pam Gregg, all of Princeton; grandchildren, Carla Bragg and husband Brian, Frankie Bailey II, Michael Bailey, Danielle and Aaliyah of Bluefield, Va., Jason O'Dell and Jodi O'Dell of Mt. Ulla, and Heather Walsh of Princeton; great grandchildren, Jared and Kaitlyn Bragg, Evan Lee Bailey, all of Princeton; brothers, Sidney Hudgins of Hampton, Va., Oscar Hudgins and Beverly of Oakvale, Cecil Hudgins of Kegley; several nieces and nephews and other family members including three special nieces, Rita Lang, Anne Stultz and Sharon Fink; her special and loving caregivers and her extended family of the Rockin Chair Residential Care Facility, who thought of her as Mom, Louise called it home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with the Reverend Gene Pennington and the Reverend Shawn Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Jr. Breeden, Brian Bragg, Frank Arnett, Raeford Arnett, Bill Chapel and Bobby Hudgins. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Lang and Walter Stultz. Family and friends may also share online condolences via www.memorialfd.com The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Rockin Chair Residential Care Facility, 2103 Pine Grove Road, Lerona, WV 25971.
