NOTE: Although the attached obit lists his name as Daniel H. Varble, another obit in the Pittsburg Daily Headlight, Pittsburg, Kansas on Nov. 9, 1901, lists him as A. H. Varble, dying at his son, George Varble's in Eldred, Illinois.
It also stated he came to Kansas in 1879, in Walnut township, near Hepler. After his wife died, he sold the farm to B. . E. Carlos., and he went to Illinois to live with his son, George.
There were also two daughters living at the time of his death: Mrs. W. H. Jury of Hepler, Kansas and Mrs. Clell Long of Walnut, Kansas.
