Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Shugert of 524 N. Broad St., celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a family dinner Sunday noon, May second, in the home. The couple was married May third 1904, in Lancaster at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Mr. Leberman, who was paster of Grace Reformed Church.

Mrs. Shugert is the former Grace Oatney, daughter of John and Lavina Oatney who lived in Greenfield Twp. Mr. Shugert is the son of Zacharias and Elizabeth Shugert who lived in Lancaster. He is a retired shoe worker.

The couple has three sons: Paul of the home; Richard of Tucson, Arizona; and Max of Columbus. There are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Grace L. Shugert, 89, of 524 N. Broad St., died today at 5:30 a.m. in Lancaster-Fairfield County Hospital.

She was the widow of Theodore T. Shugert. Surviving are 3 sons, Paul O. Shugert of the home, Richard Shugert, Tucson, Ariz., and Max T. Shugert, Columbus; 5 grandchilden and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Shugert was the last of a family of 11 [sic] and was a member of Grace United Church of Christ. Funeral services Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, the Rev. Harry G. Yaggi officiating; burial Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at Smith's afternoon Sunday.
