Kenneth John Harmon buried Wed. afternoon

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10:00, December 22 for Kenneth John Harmon, 50. Services were held at Union Methodist Church where he was a member. Revs. Mark Killam and Ferrell Cork officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Harmon died December 20 at Laird Hospital. He was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Harmon of Union; three sons, Kenneth John Harmon, Jr., Donald Bruce and John Monroe Harmon II; two daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann Russell and Mrs. Alice Reeves; six grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Harmon of Union; three brothers, Dr. Hubert Harmon, Rupert Harmon and Lt. Col. William Harmon; one sister, Mrs. Annie Margaret Lacy.

KENNETH J. HARMON FUNERAL IS HELD AT UNION DEC. 22

Kenneth John Harmon was born June 26, 1921, at Union and died on Dec. 20, 1971, in Laird Hospital, Union, after a long illness.

He was retired in June 1970 from the Federal Government Service with the USAF as a System Analyst and Computer Programmer Specialist out of the Pentagon in Washington, D. C., and Newport News, Va. Mr. Harmon traveled extensively for the USAF in his work in Europe, Asia and in the South Pacific. During World War II he served in the Army in Europe. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason and a member of the Methodist Church.

After retiring from the Federal Government, he made his home in Union.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jewel Jones Harmon; three sons, John Harmon of Union, Sp4 Kenneth J. Harmon Jr., US Army, Heidelberg, Germany, and PFC Donald B. Harmon, US Army, Ft. Rucker, Ala., two daughters, Mrs. Alice V. Reeves of Newport News, Va.; and Mrs. Joan Russell of Rixeyville, Va.; and six grandchildren survive. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Harmon, Union; three brothers, Dr. Hubert M. Harmon of Hagerstown, Md., Rupert W. Harmon of Alexandria. Va., and Lt. Col. William F. Harmon of Robins AFB, Ga.; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret H. Lacy of Gulfport.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, with the funeral service held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, the Rev. Mark Killam and the Rev. Ferrell Cork officiating at the Union Methodist Church. Stephens Funeral Home of Union was in charge. Final rites at the graveside were conducted by his Masonic Lodge. Henry Clay Lodge No. 485, Union.
