Mrs. Doris Jean Watkins age 83 of Ellijay died Tuesday June 12, 2018.
Mrs. Watkins was born November 26, 1934, in Holden W. VA the daughter of the late Merle Morris and Berdie Davis Maynard.
She worked as a nurse’s aid for many years with the Gilmer Nursing Home and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Buckhorn Baptist Church.
Her husband; James Watkins and son Billy Watkins preceded her in death.
Survivors include; children, Gary and Tammy Watkins, Ellijay, Larry “Bozie” and Donna Watkins, Ellijay, Diane Pierce, Mineral Bluff, Kenneth and Tammy Watkins, Jasper, Darrell Watkins, Ellijay, brothers; Benjamin Shepard, AZ, Billy Shepard, FL, Daniel Shepard, OH, Thomas Shepard, OH, sisters; Virginia Arbt, FL, Barbara Keith, TN, Gloria Troiano, FL and extended generations.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 16, 2018 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Salem Baptist Church cemetery.
