Services for Annie Laura Cooksey Harmon, 91, Union, were held Sunday, December 29, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Stephens Funeral.
Mrs. Harmon, a native of Little Rock, died Friday, December 27, in Laird Hospital, Union. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Union, Order of the Eastern Star #99, serving as Worthy Matron and Secretary; and was a former teacher in the schools of Newton county, holding a Bachelor's and Master of Education degree form Mississippi State University.
Survivors include, one daughter, Margaret Lacy, Union; two sons, Rupert W. Harmon, Alexandria, VA; William F. Harmon, Warner Robbins, GA; three brothers, Thomas and I. D. Cooksey, both of Houston, TX; W. J. Cooksey, Lufkin, TX; six sisters, Venia, Polly and Nola Cooksey, Nancy Hamilton and Myrtle Harrell, all of Houston, TX; Lucille Hudson, Atlanta, TX; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
