Judy Charlene Hinds Lombard, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Pflugerville Health Care Center.

Charlene was born on October 23, 1940 in Cleburne, Texas to the late Cecil Smith and Sally (Owens) Smith of Kingsland, TX. Charlene was known for her steadfast faith and close walk with Jesus Christ. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Pflugerville and University Baptist Church in Abilene, TX where she played the organ and piano.

Her career as a counselor with the Teacher Retirement System brought her great joy and lead her to become very involved in Texas Association of School Business Officials. Prior to that she served as an administrative assistant to budget and finance at the Abilene Independent School District.

Charlene was constantly on the move whether it was being a military wife, visiting family or traveling the world to places like Africa, China, Germany, Ireland and Israel. Everywhere she went, her magnetic personality attracted countless best friends. Many describe their relationship with her as being closer than with their own siblings.

She married Paul Lombard on May 26, 2007 in Austin. She is survived by her husband, one son, Wrey and wife, Connie; daughter, Sherry and husband, Rick; Step-sons Tom and wife, Connie, John and wife, Diane and David and wife, Melissa. Six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and close friends.

The visitation will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church Pflugerville with Pastor Steve Washburn officiating. Graveside services will be conducted later in the day at 4:00 p.m. at Cresson Cemetery in Cresson, Texas where Dr. Larry Heard will officiate.
