Anita Jo Hamilton Ray, 84, passed away peacefully June 12, 2018, at Belmont Village in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Robert Ray, and her great-grandson, Wesley Alexander Hamilton Crump. Born May 7, 1934, Anita Jo graduated from Jackson County High School in Scottsboro, Alabama. She worked at DuPont in Chattanooga before becoming a mother. She then worked with J.C. Penney before becoming a trusted bank teller and trainer with First Tennessee Bank. A member of the Church of Christ, she was a strong woman of faith who read her Bible daily. She treasured her family and friends and lived her life with beauty and grace. She is survived by a son, William Barry Ray and his wife, Patricia Person Ray, two step-grand-sons, Trey Crump of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wesley Crump and his wife, Stephanie Crump of Germantown, Tennessee, and her three sisters, Mona Williams, Gayle Duncan, and Peg Faw, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in Chattanooga where she will be laid to rest with her husband at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Memphis University School or a charity of choice.
