Born on January 30, 1942 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Jeff and Mae Cox Buchanan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers; Milburn, Bill, Phillip, Jack, Gene and Jay Buchanan and his sisters; Lucille Grinestaff and Elizabeth Burleson.
Jason was a member of the Yellow Mountain Baptist Church where he served as choir director, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He was retired from Henredon Furniture of Spruce Pine. Jason was a sociable person and enjoyed talking with people. He loved being with his family and his granddaughter. He enjoyed reading, studying the Bible, and working puzzle books.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Barbara ; his daughters; Elizabeth and husband, Michael of Spruce Pine and Rebecca of Spruce Pine; his granddaughter; Katherine of Spruce Pine; his sister; Augusta of Spruce Pine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Jason Buchanan on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm the Yellow Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Billy McGuire and Michael Burnop officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Yellow Mountain Cemetery.
