Vincent L. Day, Jr., age 85, of Jewell Ridge, VA passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Winston Salem, NC.
Mr. Day was born in Buchanan County, VA and was the son of the late Vincent L. Day, Sr. and Nora Cooper Day. He was a retired coal miner of Jewell Ridge Coal Corporation and was a member of the UMWA Local #7327 of Jewell Valley, VA. He lived most of his life in the Jewell Ridge area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Horn Day; one grandson, Joshua Day; sisters, Gladys Horn and Betty White; brothers, John Day and William Day.

Funeral services for Vincent L. Day, Jr. will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel with Gregory Day officiating. Interment will follow at the Day Family Cemetery on Chicken Ridge, near Jewell Ridge, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Day family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
