He was born August 14, 1939 in Horry County, SC, the son of the late James Tilman and Effie Leona Todd Jordan. Also remembered is his son, Ricky Booth; and brothers, Richard Jordan and Michael Jordan, all who preceded RC in death.
RC is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret Dobson Jordan; children, Jimmy Jordan (Gioia), Nancy Thompson, Amy Brinson, and Christa Dean; ten grandchildren; one great grandson; brother, James Bennett Jordan (Janet); sisters, Sue Lumley, Linda Jean Larrimore, Dorothy Ganis, and June Patrick (Roger); and many nephews, nieces and extended family.
RC was retired after a 28 year career as a fireman with the Wilmington Fire Department. He was a faithful member of Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church.
Not only was RC a wonderful husband; loving daddy, granddaddy, and brother, but a loyal friend. RC’s joy in life included his family and music. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing gospel music, and meeting with friends every Tuesday evening in his “music building” for a play and sing fest. RC was a man of many interests, with never an idle moment he spent many days farming and golfing. His love for his Lord, caring for family and his zest for life was evident in all his endeavors. Raymond’s life on this earth was a life well lived and we shall miss him.
The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church with service beginning at 12 noon. The Rev. Bill Applewhite will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
