James married Eliza Margaret Baity in Yadkin County, North Carolina,
February 26, 1864.

His brother Samuel Alexander Wishon married his widow, Eliza Margaret ca 1866.

James T. Wishon- Private-Company I, 28th Regiment- Born in Yadkin County, NC where he resided prior to enlisting in Yadkin County, NC at age 19, August 13,1861. Captured at New Bern on March 14 , 1862. Confined at Fort Columbus, New York Harbor. Paroled and transferred to Aiken's Landing, James River, Virginia, where he was received on July 12, 1862, for enchange. Declared exchanged at Aiken's Landing on August 5, 1862. Returned to duty prior to November 1, 1862. Hospitalized at Danville, Virginia , June 16, 1864 with a gunshot wound of the neck. Place and date wounded not reported. Returned to duty prior to October 1, 1864, when he was killed in action at or near Jones Farm , Virginia.
