James Upton "Jimmie" Briscoe

James Upton "Jimmie" Briscoe, 68, of Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Winona, died on Sunday, June 10, at Providence Hospital in Mobile.

He was born in Greenwood on June 2, 1950, to Jimmie Lee and Bonnie Braswell Briscoe. Mr. Briscoe earned his MBA in Operations and Systems Management from the University of South Alabama and was a computer systems analyst. He enjoyed photography and computers and owned a mobile video and photography business. He was a Baptist and served in the Mississippi Army National Guard.

Mr. Briscoe was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sister, Renea Briscoe Panska (Jim) of Murdock, Nebraska; niece Elizabeth Adams (Nathan) of Papillion, Nebraska; nephew, Aaron Panska of Murdock, Nebraska; and a grandniece and grandnephew, Isabel and Jonathan Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Rupert Ingram will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Richard Carter, Eddie Overstreet, Ed Bishop, Jimmy Taylor, Tony de Llacer, and Aaron Panska. Honorary pallbearers will be David Briscoe, Edward Lee Briscoe, Roy Briscoe, Jimmy Caldwell, Tommy Caldwell, and George Briscoe.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home, from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
