In 1860, enumerated during the month of June, Lois Stroud Reel (written as Loas) is listed as head of household, age 54, with daughters, Mary, Nancy, and Charity in the household. Household 611/Family 611.
The 1860 Federal Mortality Census for McDowell Co., NC, which list deaths from the previous year (June 1, 1859, through June 1, 1860) but, unlike some of the other Mortality censuses doesn't correlate with the household number listed on the 1860 census. It lists Henry Reel, age 53, farmer, as died Oct (1859) from Typhoid Fever, also dying at that same October, from Typhoid Fever, were sons, James R. Reel and Elijah Reel and another, listed as female, Malinda Reel, age 26.
Administration Bonds were issued by the court for both James C. Reel and his father, Henry Reel, on 31 October 1859, by the court in McDowell Co., North Carolina. Both Daniel Reel and Isaac A. Reel were named as administrators for both.
So the marker date is incorrect. Henry Reel died in Oct 1859.
