Heather was born March 8, 1972 to Bruce L. Myers and Jennie S. (Kistler) Myers in Topeka, Kansas. Heather attended Tecumseh South Elementary School and Shawnee Heights Middle School. She was active in gymnastics and band. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1990. Heather attended the University of Kansas majoring in theater design. She was also involved in the music department playing piccolo, flute and baritone saxophone. Heather was a drum major for the University of Kansas Marching Jayhawks. She worked as a theater technician at Murphy Hall and Lied Center.

Following college, she attended Washburn Tech studying cabinet making. Heather volunteered at Helping Hands Humane Society which led her to work as a kennel technician at Companion Animal Clinic of Topeka and Cat Association of Topeka.


Heather was preceded in death by her father, Bruce L. Myers.

She is survived by her mother, Jennie Kistler Myers Nixon (John Nixon); step-mother, Jane Myers; one sister Amy Myers (Angella Wessel); step-sisters Diane Schawe and Karti Nixon; step brother Robert Nixon; two loving uncles and many cousins.
