Surviving are daughter Kim Dillard of Peoria and son Steven (Renee) Gorrell of Metamora; grandsons Walker and Wyatt Gorrell; and siblings Paul (Marna) Gorrell of Marquette Heights, IL and Caroline McFarland of Sullivan, IL. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Robert was a U.S. Air Force Veteran where he was a airplane mechanic during the Korean War. He owned Bob’s City Service and had worked at Rossetter Ford, Peoria Toyota, Parkway Chrysler, and Roanoke Motors. He owned Bob’s Famous Lemonade Stand serving customers at Heart of Illinois Fair, Illinois State Fair, Old Settlers Days, and Steamboat Days. After retirement, he worked Bob’s Concessions at numerous local auctions. Bob enjoyed playing cards, trap shooting, hunting, and watching his grandsons play basketball. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Don Potts officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the funeral home and also one hour prior to his service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria with military rites accorded.
