Mr. LaPrate was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Fulton.
Surviving are his wife Freda; one son, Gerald LaPrate of Parish; one daughter, Ruth DeBottis of Connecticut; two sisters, Rose Young of California and Toni Valentine of Boston, Mass.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Service are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home, Parish.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 7430 Main St.
Burial will be in Carly Mills Cemetery.
