Lloyd was born January 16, 1936 in Driscoll North Dakota to George and Esther Young. He graduated from Gervais High School in 1953. Lloyd went on to obtain an associate's degree from Chicago Technical School.
On May 25, 1955 Lloyd was united in marriage with Vernita Kimmel. They were very happily married for 62 years, 10 months and 26 days. They have lived in Canby since 1959.
Lloyd worked as a supervisor of drafting and records with Omark Industries, now Blount Industries, for 42 years before retiring in 1997. Following his retirement, he continued his work as a home designer for area home builders until early 2018. Lloyd served in the National Guard from 1953 until 1959 and as a Sergeant 1st class in the Army reserves until 1961.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents George and Esther Young and sister Eileen Young.His wife and children survive.
Lloyd loved the Lord and served the body of Christ as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, church organist and any other capacity where needed. His hobbies were golf, music and attending community events such as the Canby Cougar high school football, softball and baseball games.
Lloyd was extremely devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He was grandfather to 14 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 14 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4pm, Saturday, May 12th at Canby Foursquare Church.
