John LaVern Baker 77, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at home surrounded by family after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 29, 1936, in Ammon, Idaho, in Bonneville County.

He grew up in Mesa, Arizona, in Mendon, Utah, and Bellflower, California. John worked hard all his life. He worked at the 7UP/RC bottling company for over 32 years. After he retired, he moved to Utah where he worked for Coca Cola for many years. He married Kay Miller in 1991 in the Logan Temple. He is survived by his eternal sweetheart, Kay, along with his children, Christy (Perry) Dickson, Dorena (Ruben) Esparza, Randy (Rhonda) Rask, Raileen (Kirk)Donovan, Ronda (Tim) Shutt, RoAnn Rask, Robert (Melissa) Rask, Ryan (Lisa) Rask. He will also be missed by his 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Osmer and Jennett Baker; four sisters, Beth and Helen Fay Baker, Clarice Davis and Louise Buttars; his daughter Pamela Stull; his son John David Baker and a grandson Jonathan Baker. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the LDS Church in Clarkston, 25 E. 100 South. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, with viewing from 9:30 till 10:30 a.m. at the same address.

Burial will be in the Mendon Cemetery following the service. Funeral service under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary, 3207 N. Main, North Logan, 435-787-8514. Condolences may be made online to cvmortuary.com.
