Charles A. Tibbetts was born in Portland ME son of Ira Tibbetts and Sarah Merrill Tibbetts. He married Louisa Caroline Hannaford daughter of John S. Hannaford and Eliza Jordan Hannaford in 1867. This man could really tell some stories if he were here. He lost an infant son in 1870, he lost his wife of 4 years in 1872. He remarried Augella Howland on April 26, 1882 in Cape Elizabeth, ME. He was a member of CO. E of the 10th ME infantry during the Civil War. He went down on the S.S.Portland in Cape Cod off the coast of Boston in the blizzard of 1898. He leaves one known son Phillip.
