Mr. Olson was born March 23, 1914, at Tappen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Olson. He received his education in Valley Township schools and later farmed there. He was married on June 27, 1942, to Florence Hansen at Wadena, Minn. He continued to farm in Valley Township until 1972 when he retired because of ill health. He had resided in Steele since 1974. Mr. Olson served for many years on the Valley Township Board.
Survivors include his son, Larry Olson, Tappen; two daughters, Mrs. Dave Younkin (Beryl), Fort Collins, Colo.; and Mrs. Lowell Folstad (Franes), Fargo; three grandchildren; and four sisters, Helen Bell, Mrs. Cecil Wallner (Lorraine), Jamestown, Mrs. Verna Yeater, Bismarck, and Mrs. Phil Vacca (Donna Mae), Riverdale. His parents and his wife preceded him in death.
Interment was in Highland Home Cemetery.
