Freddie B. Coleman, age 71, of Powder Springs was called home June 7, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 14 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel, Powder Springs with Rev. John Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Winifred Coleman of Powder Springs; son, Marcus (Niccole) Coleman of Powder Springs; daughter, Marci Coleman of Smyrna; siblings: James (Edith) Coleman of Douglasville; Arthur Coleman of Florissant, MO; Anna (Jewel) Wafford of St. Louis, MO; Alice (John) Hardin of Jennings, MO; Daniel Coleman, Jr. of Berkeley, MO. He was a proud “Pop” to Destiny, Jadyn, Brooklyn, affectionately known as “Cooda,” and Jaivon, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fred was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. He loved to travel, especially on family trips to the beach. He coached basketball and enjoyed family basketball games, and was an avid Saturday morning garage sale guru. Fred proudly served in the United States Army and was employed by Boeing for 41 years before retirement. Above all, his greatest love was for his family. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 14, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. mayeswarddobbins.com
