Frances Lucille "Nicky" Jenkins, age 96, of Crosby passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on November 18, 1921 in Hill City, MN and lived in Aitkin, MN from age 3 until her marriage to Lloyd C. Jenkins of Crosby in 1939.
Nicky was a bookkeeper for Lloyd's excavating business from 1947 to 1980. She loved hunting, fishing, ricing, working in her flower garden and sewing. She was a good cook; her barbequed ribs and caramel rolls were the best.
Nicky was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C.; her parents, James P. and Amanda Hogan; three sisters, Esther Hendrickson, Mildred Olsen, and Patricia Christensen and two brothers, James E. Hogan and William Hogan.
She is survived by her three children; Lloyd P. (Bonnie) Jenkins of Grand Rapids, MN, Sherri McCoy of Alexandria, MN, and Steven J. (Paula) Jenkins of Fort Myers, FL; ten grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Nicky's family is very appreciative of the patient, loving, caring staff at C.R.M.C and of Kim Olsen (hospice) and volunteers for the care, love and joy they brought to Nicky in her last days.
A private graveside service will be held at the Lakewood Cemetery on June 17, 2018.
A celebration of Nicky's life will be held at the Crosby Memorial Park on June 17 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A light lunch will be served. Friends and family are welcome.
