Betty Jean Connor Dozier was born in Orlando Florida and was the daughter of Nina Hinson Connor and James Walling Connor. She was the widow of Colonel James Charles Dozier. She loved and raised two daughters, Elizabeth Little Dozier Steedly and Jean Louise Dozier Davey. She was the heart of her family. Her open heart, generosity of spirit and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She raised her children with the true meaning of unconditional love and acceptance. She was a loving wife to "Jimmy" and was his partner throughout his military career creating a warm atmosphere in their home for visitors from all over the country. She was a volunteer at the USO during World War II and the Vietnam War, a volunteer with the Red Cross, Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC, and Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens. She was survived by her daughters, sons-in-law, sister, Marcelle Connor Crow and many nieces and nephews.
