Alexander is the son of Gilbert Quick and Elizabeth Wray.

Alexander married Rachel Long May 21, 1866.

Alexander and Rachel are the parents of S. Gilbert Quick, George Quick, Charles Quick, Mary Quick-York, William Quick, Alice Quick-Butler and Lester Quick.

Obituary:
Mr. Alex Quick, of Goble Creek passed away last Tuesday evening, age 74 years. He leaves a wife, five sons and two daughters, besides a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was buried in the Shanghai Cemetery [Now Rose Valley Cemetery] Thursday at 11 a. m.

Alexander D. Quick moved to San Franciso in 1860 and then later to Salem, Oregon where he married Miss Rachel Ann Long in 1866. They moved to Portland, where they lived until 1885, then moved to Shanghai, Washington for a shot time before taking up the old homestead on Goble Creek. His wife, two daughters, five sons survive him - Mary E, wife of Charles York, L. Alice, wife of D.O. Butler, S. Gilbert Quick, George O. Quick, Charles Quick, William H. Quick, Albert L. Quick.
