RAYMOND LOVE CLAYTON, SR. age 86, of 107 Kelly Carver Road, Roxboro, NC died Saturday morning, June 9, 2018 at Person Memorial Hospital.



Mr. Clayton was born November 3, 1931 in Person County, NC son of the late Carlton & May Wrenn Clayton and was husband of 66 years to Barbara Ann Clayton who survives. He was passionate about his work as a brick mason which he did from the age of twenty-five until his retirement in 2005.



Raymond enjoyed working, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family at Hyco lake, attended Theresa Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.



Surviving in addition to his wife are, two children, Raymond Love “Ray” Clayton, Jr. & wife, Brenda of Roxboro, NC, Kim C. Wilson & husband, Steve of Greenville, NC, three grandchildren, Clayton Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Cindi Cole, two great grandchildren, Paityn Wilson, Layne Cole, brother, Wimp Clayton & wife, Rose, two sisters, Jeanette Gentry & husband, Felix, Helen Jones & husband, Ira, and sister-in-law, Betty Jean Clayton.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Clayton is preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Clayton and Riley Clayton.



A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. The family will receive friends and guests at the funeral home immediately following the service and other times at the home.
