He was reared and educated in Ogden, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Ken was drafted into the US Army in April of 1968. He served in Germany, Vietnam and Ft. Hood, Texas. He was awarded a Bronze Star with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart and two Army Commendation Medals. In 1976, Ken was Honorably Discharged from the Army.
While at Ft. Hood, Ken met and married Theresa Ann McGregor. They were married for twenty years and later divorced but remained close friends.
Ken returned to Ogden, Utah and worked at Hill Air Force Base as a Boiler Plant operator, retiring in 2000. Upon retirement, Ken moved to Hamilton, Montana where he worked for the U.S. Forest Service.
Ken enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid bowler participating in numerous leagues and tournaments.
Ken had a huge generous heart and was always willing to help others no matter what the need was.
Ken is survived by one older sister, Carol Gunnerson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary Greer, Fay Greer and one sister, Fern Pearson.
Per Ken's wishes, a viewing will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 5 to 7 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded at 5 p.m. prior to the viewing, cremation to follow.
