She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Johnsie Barkley and the widow of Lamont Dyson who died in 1996.
Mrs. Dyson was born in Mooresville, NC and was employed by Huntersville Oaks as a Dietary Assistant. She was a faithful member of Church of God Cornelius.
She is survived by her two sons; James Dyson of Charlotte and Tracy Dyson of Cornelius, daughter, Kelly Dyson Sowards of Schenectady, NY, four grandchildren; Mitchel Kiman, Robert "Micheal" Sowards, Amanda Sowards and Autum Dyson, five great grandchildren and one brother, Edward Dyson of Mooresville.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, Monday, June 11, 2018 at Church of God Cornelius, 21201 Hickory St., Cornelius NC 28031. Mrs. Dyson's funeral service will be held at 11:00 in the church sanctuary and burial will follow in Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.
