Cohoes- Carol Louise Cashdollar, 56, passed away suddenly at Samaritan Hospital, with her loving family by her side, on January 10, 2018.

She was born on July 10, 1961 in Niskayuna, a daughter of Herbert Cashdollar and the late Louise Mayer Cashdollar.

Carol was raised in Delanson and was a graduate of Duanesburg High School. After graduation, she moved to Utica and the South Trenton area. She was employed at Wolfe News in Utica as a book room manager. She moved to Cohoes in late 1990 and worked at a craft store and at Cumberland Farms as a cashier. She also worked at the Albany County Nursing Home, and always seemed to enjoy working with the elderly. She was a New York State employee for 18 years working at the University of New York Applications Processing Center, the Dept. of Labor, the Health Dept. and retired from the Office of Children and Family Services in October of 2017. She has resided in Cohoes for the past 28 years.

Carol enjoyed the outdoors by tending flower and vegetable gardens especially for her Aunt Alice, skiing and bike riding. She especially looked forward to going ocean fishing at Point Judith, RI and camping and fishing at Sacandaga Lake with her friends, especially Coop and Rita.

She was an extremely kind, warm, thoughtful and generous person, a real light in this world. She had such a good heart and she brought so many gifts of love to those around her. She enjoyed talking with people and made you laugh. She really loved all animals, especially her favorite black cat Niggie.

Carol is survived by her father Herbert, of Delanson, her brother Thomas (Emilie) Cashdollar of Delanson, her sister Edith "Ede" (John) Dudek of Waterford, her brother James (Ann Weir) of Cohoes, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her mother Louise, Carol was also predeceased by her brother Kenneth Weir of Ravena.

In keeping with Carol's wishes all services will be private.

The family respectfully requests that memorial donations can be made to your local animal shelter and /or St. Jude's Children research Hospital.
