Benjamin Franklin “Benny” Stewart 65, passed away on June 8th, 2018 at his home in Calhoun County. He was born on November 19th, 1952 to Willie B. Stewart and Modess Barefield Stewart in Calhoun County. Benny was a retired carpenter, skills that he used while serving in The Mississippi National Guard for several years before being honorably discharged.
Benny leaves behind his Wife, Kathy Lynn Howell Stewart of Bruce; Son Benjamin Keith Stewart and his Wife Tracy of Bruce; Sisters Pearl Ward of Vardaman, Nancy Warren and her Husband James of Calhoun City, and Barbara Crutchfield of Calhoun City; and Grandchildren Becca Stewart, Shawn Stewart, Caleb Moore, Haley Moore, Michael Keith Stewart, and Christopher Kolton Stewart.
There will be a visitation with the family on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. A funeral service honoring Benny’s life will begin immediately following the visitation in the chapel of the funeral home led by Brother Jimmy Vance, with Brother Robert Earl Alexander assisting.
Benny will be laid to rest in the cemetery at Antioch Baptist Church, where he was a member. Active Pallbearers will be Roger Childers, Caleb Morgan, Steve Morgan, David Ward, Steve Ward, and Charles White. Honorary Pallbearers include Ritchie Logan, Caleb Moore, Hayley Moore, Becca Stewart, and Shawn Stewart.
Benny was preceded in death by his Parents; Son Christopher Robert Stewart; and Daughter Courtney Collins
