Born on May 26, 1932, daughter of the late Peter and Stella Osmolia, Ann was educated in Old Forge schools. Upon raising her family, she worked as a housekeeper for the former Taylor Hospital. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Stanislaus Church before its closure.
Sweet, caring and kind-hearted, Ann was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who'll forever be missed.
She is survived by her children, David Carey and wife, Joanne; and Elliott Carey and fiancée, Joyce Brigido, all of Old Forge; and Kathryn Carey of Scranton; a brother, Peter Osmolia and wife, Marie, of Taylor; six grandchildren, Scott, David, Chris, Elliott, Richard and Lauren Carey; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
An infant daughter, Anna Lee Carey, and a sister, Frances "Cookie" Sloski, also preceded her in death.
Blessing services by the Rev. Fran Landry, C.P., pastor of St. Ann's Basilica, are scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Old Forge.
