Ruth is survived by her son, Russell D. and Paulette Matthews, Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren, Lisa Deyo, Melissa Kelsey, Kevin Fiske, and Emily Matthews; and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
During WWII, Ruth contributed to the war effort by working in an aircraft plant in Buffalo, NY. She later worked as a licensed practical nurse. Ruth was a devoted wife to her husband, and faithfully served with him in the ministry of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed the beauty of flowers, especially pansies and violets. Ruth was talented at domestic crafts, tatting, crocheting, and sewing.
Recently her family and friends were privileged to celebrate her 100th birthday and showed their appreciation for the wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend Ruth has always been. Her 100 years are a testimony to a life well lived in service to our Lord, family, and community.
