Dennis R. Roper, 67, Kearney, died June 7, 2018 at his home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., June 12, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Duane Duley officiating. Burial will be Highland Cemetery in Bertrand at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., June 11, 2018 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services.

Dennis was born June 5th, 1951 in Lexington, Nebraska to George and Grace (Anderson) Roper of Bertrand.

Growing up in rural Nebraska, Dennis was active in 4H and sports, as well as church activities. After high school, he attended Kearney State College. Upon graduating, he made Kearney his permanent home, partnering with friends to form two real estate companies, and a career spanning 45 years. Dennis made many lifelong friends through his business associations, and always had a ready smile and sincere concern for each of them.

Dennis was a member of Holy Cross.

Dennis was devoted to his family, which includes his wife, Beth of Kearney, daughter and son-in-law, Gina and AJ Mogis of Lincoln, sons, Robert Roper of Kearney, and William Roper of Denver, brother-in-law Myron Miller of Bertrand. Other family includes nieces, and many cousins.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rosann Miller, and nephew Danny Miller.
