Shirley was the daughter of the late Vernon and Georgia Hartsfield Jackson. She was married to Roy Knox who survives. She was preceded by a sister Jackie Dale as well as four brothers: Eugene Hartsfield, Robert Sherfield, Jerry Jackson and Perry Jackson. She is survived by two daughters, two sisters and three brothers, several stepchildren and their families. She left behind ten grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
